"Hi, I'm Sharon Akins, the owner and operator of Akins Online, LLC, an online store providing used, and sometimes new (still in factory seal) books and media including movies from VHS to DVD and Blu-ray formats, and music in CD format. I'm in the process of carefully listing and sharing my dad's extensive and eclectic personal book collection — one thoughtful title at a time.
Many of these books reflect his wide-ranging interests, and I'm handling the inspection, grading, photographing, and shipping myself (with occasional help from friends on pickups). Because this is a solo operation with mostly one-of-a-kind copies, I take extra care with every listing: honest condition notes, multiple photos, and clear descriptions so you know exactly what you're getting. My pricing is based off of Amazon prices using Scout IQ and web searches when available.
I like to keep a clean appearance, so you may notice some shop links appear and disappear at times. They aren't gone, it just means that nothing in the inventory is on that platform at any given time.

Regarding the Thomas D. Weeks Library
A note regarding the Thomas D. Weeks Library: Each book listed with the ribbon Library of Thomas D. Weeks are books from my father, who passed in August 2024, and is the reason I started this business. I am doing my best to clean up these books because they come from a hoarder house. So I wanted to make the announcement here in case I miss stating it in the individual descriptions, these books may contain odors.
From his library, as with books from similar conditions, I use Goo Gone to clean covers and removes stickers. I also try to air them out as much as possible to remove the odors.

My father often put inscriptions in pencil in the books that had his specific catalog number, date, and location he bought it. I have left these inscriptions in them because it makes it easier to keep track of the different inventory and how to split up the proceeds of the sale of his books with my family. If you purchase one of these books and would like this removed prior to shipping, please let me know.
Our Services
Free pickup of unwanted media including books, movies in VHS to Blu-ray format. We also take in a wide range or music which will be added as well and are mostly in CD format. We gather unwanted items in the Rio Rancho/Albuquerque area including Corrales, Bernalillo and Placitas. This service is based on the amount of space we have and may not be offered all the time.
Looking for something in particular? Let us know and we'll do our best to find it with our free search. Want us to purchase it if we locate it, so you don't miss out? We will order it sent to our shop and let you know when it arrives before mailing it out to you for an additional finder's fee.
